I love the ability to stow away my laptop, documents and accessories in an attractive bag that saves my shoulders and back from the strain of a heavy briefcase or laptop bag. It's even nicer that the bag is a brilliant red leather and really stands out. I've received so many compliments that I've stopped counting. It's by far one of my favorite travel companions when I hit the road. Don't be fooled or put off by the bright green color - it is as professional looking as any of the more conservative black and brown ones I owned earlier in my career - probably because of the high quality leather and sleek stylish design. As mentioned by other reviews, the stitching adds a touch of class to the bag and also makes it more unique than if it were a matching color. <br /> <br />PROS: The purchase comes with a mini umbrella attached to a hook on the wheeled platform, which is behind the bag. Not sure how easy it is to reach, but that's a nice addition that I wasn't expecting. The front also has a cool clasped pocket that fits magazines, your schedule, passport, itinerary, or other papers that you may need quick access to. The wheels are very solid and the handle functions properly. It was very easy to maneuver from carrying up stairs to wheeling when I needed to travel a longer distance. Unlike more cumbersome bags, I didn't slow my party down as we were walking across different terrains or as I switched from carrying to wheeling and back. <br /> <br />The CONS: Though you can fit a larger notebook computer, expect the fit to be a little tight. I was able to fit my powercord, pens, financial calculators, etc., but you may have to figure out how to get everything you need into the bag. After I packed all of my items, I couldn't find a place to put the shoulder strap, so set it aside and left it at the hotel, but this is the downside of leather versus other types of materials that are more expandable. Another small detractor is that the process of unzipping the bag from the platform is not as smooth as it could be. To remove the bag, you'd unzip the two zippers on each side and the one underneath. This was much easier when the bag was completely empty. <br /> <br />OVERALL, the Ellyn by McKlein USA definitely seems made for a female business traveler who prefers a high-quality, good-looking leather bag. In fact, the bag looks so nice that I think I'll only use it for business trips and will buy a separate "everyday" case for my office, which has a more casual atmosphere. It seems to be excellent quality, nice heavy leather. The handle seems just a little flimsier than I expected, and it sticks on occasion, but otherwise overall a good quality product and I would probably buy it again.

After a few months of use, the latch on the front pocket is detaching, so if the bag is not upright, the planner and any papers in the front pocket slide out.

I’m hoping I can find a shoe repair place or something to fix it, because shipping the entire bag all the way to Chicago to repair the latch under McKlein’s warranty… well, I might as well just buy a new one for all the expense and trouble. bummmer. Otherwise, this is still a beautiful piece. Hopefully the plastic zippers will hold up better than the metal latch.

My only two issues are the handle doesn't retract low enough to allow the bag to go into the small overhead in some planes and the zipper tabs are a little small and hard to grab. The space is perfect with lots of room for all my accessories. I used the space by the handle for power cords and extra hard drives. I've had lots of comments from people liking the looks of my pink bag and the men on the planes always know it's mine. I rarely will take it off the wheels but it's great to have the option.
