I got this case with my first laptop a few years ago. It is indeed a beautiful and sturdy case. HOWEVER, if you plan on moving around a lot while carrying your laptop or have any items you plan on putting in there that are lighter in color this case is a very impractical buy. Not only is it an extremely heavy bag, it is also quite bulky and the handles are not flexible at all. After walking 3 or 4 blocks, the handles start cutting into my shoulder, and despite switching shoulders while I walk from my car to the office, I'm constantly sore because the bag is so heavy. The red interior also rubs off and dies everything red (my poor white macbook power cords, etc all have red stains on them).

I travel quite a bit, and have efficient packing down to a science, but no matter how lightly I pack, this case has become the bane of my traveling experience.

So unless your laptop and all of its accessories are black, and you don't plan on actually carrying this case around too much, I would strongly advise against it and look into something of more flexible material less weight.

Transitioning to a new career, I needed a portfolio. I wanted something stylish, lighweight, functional, big enough for my 12" laptop and a few other necessities with lots of pockets for compartmentalization (sp?). I got all of that in this bag. I was worried that some said it looked blue but my bag looks black and the croc pattern looks so nice. The little bag inside and all of the little compartments really help one stay organized. It even has little stubs on the bottom to keep it from wearing poorly. The straps are long enough that I can put it on my shoulder, but short enough so I can hold it in my hands. I'm glad I made this choice.

I am extremely happy with this bag. It's well-made and beautiful, and it has held up under some serious wear. The straps have been great when the bag is full and heavy. I also love the special design features: business card holder (which I use for my keys), cell phone pocket and the other larger pocket (which is zinc-lined, more than I needed) for my small wallet. There's also a metal interior clip for keys, and two other interior pockets, in addition to the laptop holder. And I like the small makeup/accessory bag that comes with it. I just realized that one of the elastic holders for pens/pencils is designed for chapstick/lipstick, too.

You can't beat the quality for the price here.

My recommendation would be to go for the larger bag if you know you are going to be carrying a good deal of stuff (large books or many files + the laptop).

I bought this bag for my laptop about 5 months ago when I needed something less bulky than I had. Its got loads of room for screens up to 15", as well as space for essentials like your power cord, pens, mobile phone, cosmetics, hardcopy files, etc. I'm always on the go and my bag has taken some damage as a result. A few scratches but they're barely noticeable, and harsh weather and my computer remains safe.

I don't regret making the purchase, its definitely worth the money, however I'd use the fabric sheath that comes inside. I noticed after a few weeks of heavy use my white MacBook had very faint black lines on it from the lining of the bag's computer pocket. These can be removed with a product like iKlear though.

Excellent service, but I expected to see another model of the handbag. It looked different on the picture.
